Digital Music

Musically inclined campers who want to write and record their own music will love this option. They use a digital professional grade audio program, Ableton Live, to learn the basics of song composition and digital music production.

Pads, patches, compression, reverb, and note quantization may all sound like foreign concepts now, but campers soon become familiar with advanced industry tools to put their musical creativity to work. MIDI keyboards are provided for recording, and campers learn to export their songs into MP3s to be hosted on compatible forms of social media so their family and friends can tune in! Although most instruments are available through the MIDI keyboard, campers are also welcome to bring in their own instruments to record on their tracks.

  • Requirements: Ability to work in pairs. Prior experience with playing a musical instrument is helpful.
  • Level: Beg-Advanced (Juniors and Seniors)
  • Take home: MP3s files to download from website.
