Animation attracts kids who want to draw cartoons or make stick figure videos. Campers can do "frame by frame" cartoons using Flash,
or work with Monkey Jam to create "claymations" and other stop action videos using
digital cameras.
Advanced campers can use more sophisticated software such as Maya or Blender, to create amazing 3D projects. Campers with knowledge of object-oriented porgramming may use ActionScript for really cutting edge projects.
Programming is no longer a prerequisite for animation, but we strongly recommend that Juniors take programming or digital art first — because they will be more familiar with moving graphical objects around the screen and avoid being frustrated at the longer process of animating.
