Kids come to TIC not just to explore technology, but for personal attention, confidence building, and the opportunity to test the reaches of their creativity. Our unique model allows our campers to exercise both their mind and body with equal half days of technology and athletics! This mind-body balance has been an essential aspect of our program since the camp’s start in 1983. We believe that learning the ‘hard skills’ in Technology is even more powerful when combined with learning the ‘soft skills’ during Athletics. We’re not just about knowing how to code, we’re about knowing how to lead. Knowledge building is about more than an end product, it’s about the quality of the journey and the memories and skills created along the way. Our philosophy at TIC is that kids learn best by having fun!
Campers are divided into two age groups (Juniors, rising 2nd through 5th grade; Seniors, rising 6th through 10th grade) and receive customized instruction with low camper to counselor ratios of 4:1 in technology and 6:1 in athletics.
During each two-week session, our skilled Technology counselors guide campers to create unique projects using relevant programming languages or multimedia software with lots of choice and creative independence. In Athletics, our caring staff focuses on participation and character building through a flexible schedule of traditional and non-traditional sports. Since its first season in 1983, TIC has been accredited by the American Camp Association.
TIC was named “Best Summer Camps of 2017 and 2018” by Northern Virginia Magazine!
