What they’ll build

Using Ableton, one of the same programs professional producers use, campers learn the basics of music composition and how to build a track from scratch, digitally. Pads, patches, reverb, and compression might sound like a foreign language on day one, but campers quickly get comfortable with these industry-standard tools and start putting their own musical ideas to work. They'll record with real MIDI keyboards and microphones, layering vocals, instruments, and effects into an original track. By the end of the session, they'll have a finished song they made themselves and might even get to design their own album cover to go with it.
