VA Carpool & Transportation

Cars enter from Balls Hill Road into the entrance and pool around the circle for drop-off and pick up. Campers drop off and pick up can ONLY HAPPEN ON CAMPUS.

You may not enter the grounds until 3pm or when the Staff direct you. If you arrive early, you can line up on the side of Balls Hills Rd. Cars enter the same way as in the morning. You will be directed by security officers and counselors along the way. A staff member will call for your camper(s) and escort them to your vehicle. DISPLAY YOUR CARPOOL CARD ON YOUR DASHBOARD for ease, otherwise you will have to pull over to show your ID. If the person is not on the authorized pick up list, we will call the contacts for verbal permission before releasing a camper. PRO TIP: Arriving at the very beginning or very end of the pick-up window may result in longer wait times. We ask for your patience the first few days of camp while families and campers learn our system.

TIC has partnered with The Langley School to provide shuttle bus transportation to and from the school to designated cluster stops (for an additional fee). If your child is registered for the TIC-VA Shuttle Bus. Please make sure to complete the Permission Form and then email it to tabitha@ticcamp.com. Langley Sumer Studio Camp (preschool-1st grade) will be riding the bus alongside TIC campers. VA SHUTTLE BUS TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

CARPOOL CARDS

Our special TIC-branded Carpool Cards are emailed out prior to the start of camp and are also available on the first day of camp at Drop-off. DISPLAY THE CARPOOL CARD(S) FOR EACH CAMPER YOU ARE PICKING UP ON YOUR DASHBOARD for ease. They are required for ALL pick-ups, even Extended Day. Carpool cards are what we use to identify people that are authorized to pick up your camper. If you want to authorize someone else to pick up your child, simply send/give them the carpool card. If someone tries to pick up your camper without a carpool card, we will need to check their ID and consult the "approved pick-up list" (available in your TIC account), and call you to confirm before we release your camper to them. Please note that this takes extra time so please be patient.

DAILY CAMPER DROP OFF (8:00-8:30AM)

Staff will be waiting to greet you and sign your camper in for the day from 8-8:30am. If you arrive after 8:45am, please use the loop off of 42nd and Davenport St to drop your camper at the main entrance. Please call and a staff member we will come out to greet them.

EARLY PICK UP

To pick up a camper early, please call or email the TIC-DC Camp Office at 703-447-8934 (preferably the day before) in order for us to have your camper ready at the designated time. Please call the office when you arrive in the loop at the main entrance on Davenport street and we will escort them out to your car. We will make every effort to have your camper ready for you in the office but please note that it can take 5-10 minutes, so please plan appropriately. If you arrive after 2:40, please wait in the carpool line in the garage.

CAMPER SELF-CHECK OUT

For Senior campers who walk, ride bikes, or take public transportation, please complete and submit the “Permission to Walk Home” form through your online account. They will be able to check themselves out with a designated Director prior to the beginning of carpool each afternoon. In the case of severe weather, TIC may ask for additional parental permission for campers to leave the site. If you prefer that your camper stay until the weather passes or we are unable to reach you, we will keep your campers onsite until we hear otherwise from a guardian or it becomes safe for them to leave.

EXTENDED DAY PICK UP to be updated

Any camper who is not picked up during carpool goes to Extended Day, you do not need to sign up or let us know in advance. Also, payments for drop-ins are processed to your payment method on file at the end of each camp session. Therefore, if you need to update your payment method for any reason, please contact us at 703-876-2868.

Campers can be picked up any time before 5:30pm. Call 703-447-8934 when you arrive, and we will bring your child out to you. You must have your carpool card to ensure safety.
